ATEX certification (Directive 2014/34/EU)
On March 23, 1994, the European Commission adopted the Directive on Equipment and Protective Systems for Potential Explosive Environments (94/9/EC). This directive covers both mining and non mining equipment. Unlike previous directives, it includes mechanical and electrical equipment, extending the potential explosive hazard environment to dust and flammable gases, flammable vapors, and mist in the air. This directive is commonly referred to as the ATEX 100A "New Method" directive, which is the current ATEX Explosion Protection Directive. It specifies the technical requirements for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive environments - basic health and safety requirements and the conformity assessment procedures that must be adopted before the equipment is placed on the European market within its scope of use. at presentATEXinstructionsThe code has been updated to2014/34/EU.
ATEX is a testing and certification accreditation required to verify the safety of products sold to the European Union and other international regions. ATEX certificate is a mandatory certificate within the European Union, and ATEX is also a common contract specification in foreign countries in Europe. Manufacturers who wish to enter Europe and sell products for explosive environments in Europe must demonstrate that their products comply with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
The basis for ATEX product certification isEN60079Series standards, detailed standards are as follows:
1 EN 60079-0 Explosive Atmosphere Part 0: General Requirements for Equipment
2 EN 60079-1 Explosive Atmosphere Part 1: Equipment Protected by Flameproof Enclosures "d"
3 EN 60079-2 Explosive Atmosphere Part 2: Equipment Protected by Positive Pressure Shell Type "p"
4 EN 60079-5 Explosive atmospheres - Part 5: Equipment protected by sand filled molds "q"
5 EN 60079-6 Explosive atmospheres Part 6: Equipment protected by oil immersed "o" type
6 EN 60079-7 Explosive Atmosphere Part 7: Equipment Protected by Increased Safety Type "e"
7 EN 60079-11 Explosive atmospheres Part 11: Equipment protected by intrinsic safety type "i"
8 EN 60079-15 Explosive atmospheres Part 15: Equipment protected by non sparking type "n"
9 EN 60079-18 Explosive Atmosphere Part 18: Equipment Protected by Sealed Type "m"
10ISO/IEC 80079-34 Explosive Atmosphere Part 34: Application of Quality Assurance System for Equipment Manufacturers
